Terms of Service

The short version

Windmaster is a wind & wave forecast app. The forecasts are best-effort and may be wrong. Use your own judgement on the water. Don't do anything dangerous because the app said the wind would be a certain way. We're not liable for your decisions on the water.

Who we are

Windmaster is operated by Swipe Up B.V. (“we”, “us”), a company registered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (KvK 89034309). These terms govern your use of the Windmaster web app and native iOS / Android apps (“the Service”).

Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

What the Service is

Windmaster aggregates publicly available wind, wave, and weather forecasts from third-party sources (primarily Open- Meteo) and renders them in a personalised format for water- sports practitioners. We add gear-size recommendations based on your rider profile, plus a curated catalogue of spots maintained by us.

The Service is provided “as is” — features may change, ship, break, or be removed without notice.

Forecast accuracy — important

Forecasts are generated by numerical weather models and are probabilistic, not facts. They can be wrong by significant margins, especially in:

• Coastal venturi / thermal wind spots (e.g. Tarifa, Tehuantepec)
• Microclimates and lee-of-headland spots
• The first / last hours of a sea breeze
• Storm and front transitions

You are responsible for your own safety on the water. Use the forecast as one input among many — local knowledge, tide tables, lifeguard advice, and your own observation always take precedence. Never enter the water if you're unsure of conditions, regardless of what the app says.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials private. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use. We're not liable for losses caused by you sharing your password. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page.

Acceptable use

When using the Service, don't:

• Scrape or harvest data via automated means
• Reverse-engineer the app or attempt to extract third-party API keys
• Use the Service to harass, defraud, or impersonate others
• Resell, redistribute, or repackage forecast data without permission
• Probe, scan, or test the security of our infrastructure

Intellectual property

The Windmaster name, logo, app design, code, and curated spot catalogue are the property of Swipe Up B.V. The forecast data we display belongs to the underlying providers (Open- Meteo, NOAA / GFS, ECMWF). The map basemap is © OpenStreetMap contributors. The satellite imagery is © MapTiler. You get a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Windmaster Pro subscriptions

Windmaster offers an optional paid subscription, Windmaster Pro, which unlocks features such as every forecast model (ECMWF, GFS, and ICON), the 6-hour live-wind trend, and wind alerts. The core forecast, the Masterforecast, the 16-day outlook, saved spots, and gear recommendations stay free.

Pro is offered as a monthly or annual plan and may start with a free trial. The exact price for your region, the trial length, and the billing period are always shown on the upgrade screen before you confirm. After any free trial, the subscription automatically renews at the price shown, for the same period, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

How you are billed depends on where you subscribe:

• In the iOS app, payment is charged to your Apple ID through the App Store. Manage or cancel anytime in your iPhone Settings, under your Apple ID → Subscriptions. Use “Restore” on the upgrade screen to recover a purchase on a new device.
• On the web, payment is processed by Stripe. Manage or cancel from your Account page; your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.

One Windmaster Pro subscription unlocks Pro on both the web and the app when you sign in with the same account. Refunds are handled by the platform you bought on: contact Apple for App Store purchases, or us for web purchases, subject to your applicable consumer-law rights. If prices change, we will give notice before the change affects a renewal.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no warranties — express or implied — about accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service — including any decision you make on the water based on a forecast we displayed. You assume all risk for water-sports activities.

Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without prior notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) survive.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. If you're a consumer in the EU you may also have rights under your home jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these terms over time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated to signed-in users by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
