IKOOn the Guajiru lagoon
SoulKite Brazil faces the main flat-water lagoon at Ilha do Guajiru and has been teaching since 2009. Bilingual IKO and VDWS instructors take riders from first lesson to independent, with a dedicated wing and hydrofoil course, downwinders and multi-day kite trips. Gear rental is included with lessons, and the property runs its own on-site kite house and guest restaurant right on the water.

Isla Kite Center
IKOOn the Guajiru lagoon, Itarema
Isla Kite Center teaches on the shallow flat lagoon at Ilha do Guajiru with a one-to-one model, so each rider keeps a dedicated instructor rather than rotating through a group. Lessons cover kite and wing from beginner to advanced, with Naish equipment and radios included, and the centre runs downwind expeditions along the Ceará coast. Instruction is available in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Ilha do Guajiru is a remote flat-water paradise on the Itarema coast of Ceará, about three hours north-west of Fortaleza. Its centrepiece is a huge, shallow lagoon separated from the ocean by a sandbar, a natural swimming pool where the water is flat and waist-deep for hundreds of metres. That combination of steady trade wind and mirror-flat water makes it a magnet for freestyle riders and a very safe place to learn, and most visitors come on package stays at the handful of kite camps lining the lagoon.
