Surfpoint Kiteboarding School
IKOHam Tien (main beach + Malibu)
Surfpoint is one of Mui Ne's longest-standing schools, with a beachfront clubhouse tied to the Sea Horse resort and a second, quieter Malibu teaching spot. It teaches kite, wing-foil and surf with IKO instruction, secure lockers and wash stations, a spot guide and its own budget Phong Phi guesthouse for a lessons-and-stay combo.

Mui Ne Kitesurf School
IKOHam Tien beach
Mui Ne Kitesurf School sits on the widest stretch of Ham Tien beach, with a reputation for getting students riding quickly under instructors Marcel and Tien. It runs IKO kite lessons for adults and kids alongside surf and SUP, gear rental and storage, beach assistance, and its own accommodation and beach bar.

Mui Ne Bay Kite School
Mui Ne Bay
Mui Ne Bay is a small, owner-run school on its own beachfront spot on the bay, led by experienced local instructor Son. It keeps things personal and safety-focused, with structured lesson tiers from taster to pro, kite and surf rental, and lesson-plus-accommodation packages capped off with a fresh-fish beach barbecue.
Mui Ne is South-East Asia's original kite hub, a long sandy bay on Vietnam's south-east coast lined with schools, cheap eats and beach bars. The winter north-east monsoon blows side-onshore and thermally reinforced almost every afternoon, giving some of the most reliable strong wind in the region. The trade-off is a choppy, wave-riddled shorebreak rather than a flat lagoon, so it rewards improvers who like moving water, while the calmer summer season suits first lessons. The kite beach is technically in Ham Tien, a few kilometres from Mui Ne village itself.

Common questions
When is the best time to learn in Mui Ne?
The kite season in Mui Ne runs Nov–Apr, and most reliable from Dec–Mar. Expect around 18–25 kt, typically the NE monsoon.
Is Mui Ne good for beginners?
Mui Ne suits all levels. It is known for stronger wind, so beginners are best starting on the lighter days with one of the schools here.
Do I need to bring my own gear?
No. The 3 schools in Mui Ne include equipment in their lessons, and most also rent kites and boards once you can ride independently.
How long does it take to get riding?
Most people need roughly six to twelve hours over three to five days to get up and riding upwind on their own. The schools in Mui Ne run this as a structured course rather than one-off sessions.
What should I bring?
Just swimwear and sun protection. The schools provide everything else: kite, board, harness and a wetsuit. The water here runs 25–28°C.
Should I book lessons ahead?
Yes, especially around the Dec–Mar peak, when the wind is most reliable and courses fill up. Booking ahead also lets the school match you to the right instructor and conditions.
